Gourmet Fair

No doubt there are those among you who would quarrel that a spilled cola and popcorn don't fit the definition of "gourmet", but we gourmands here at Dozens of Muslins beg to differ. Besides, the corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and kettle corn at fairs truly represent the very best of American cuisine, if indeed "cuisine" is apropos for fair fare. That said, perhaps we should abandon the talk of food and focus on the wonderful merry-go-round, ferris wheel, fireworks, and the imminent descent of my favorite childhood roller coaster, the Shooting Star, lately of Coney Island in Cincinnati. R.I.P. Shooting Star.
